    Will I receive my race number/timing chip prior to the event?
    • No, your race number and timing chip need to be collected on the morning of the event from the club house at Berkshire County Sports Club
       
  • Can I enter on the day?
    • Yes, subject to race limit and a £3 additional fee.
       
  • What time do I need to be where?
    • The kids fun starts at 8.30am
    • The 5km/10km run will start at 9am
    • Registration opens from 7.45am
       
  • What are the age limits for entry?
    • The Kids Fun Run is for 4 - 13 year olds
    • The 5km race - minimum competitor age is 13 years
    • The 10km race - minimum competitor age is 15 years
       
  • What is the course?
    • Please see the course map here
    • Please follow marshal instructions at all times and be prepared to stop at junctions, crossing and roundabouts to give way to other road users, traffic and pedestrians.
    • The course starts and finishes at Berkshire County Sports Club on Sonning Lane.
    • Sonning Lane will be closed for the start of the race.
    • When running along the River Thames footpath, there will be members of public enjoying the area too - you do not have sole use of this path, so please be considerate and sensible along this path.
    • All runners must stay on the footpath along the A4 and Pound Lane - you are not permitted to run in either of these roads. They are both open to traffic and footpaths are open to member of the public.
    • Please be cautious, safe and respectful. Enjoy the course!
       
  • Can I run with a buggy?
    • No, the course is not suitable for buggies.
       
  • Is there a cut off time in which to finish the event?
    • All competitors need to finish the event by 10.30am
       
  • Which roads are affected during the event to traffic?
    • Please see details here.
       
  • Are there toilets on-site?
    • Yes – port-a-loos will be located on the sports field. No urinating in public allowed under any circumstances.
       
  • Can I wear headphones during the event?
    • No, From 1 April 2016 a new rule regarding the wearing of head phones in road races was introduced into the 2016-2018 edition of the UKA Rules of Competition:
    • "The wearing of headphones, or similar devices, (other than those medically prescribed), is not permitted in races on any single carriageway road that is not wholly closed to traffic” Enforcement of this rule is a matter for the race director and referee and disqualification of runners who choose to ignore it is an option.
       
  • Is there parking at the start/finish area?
    • This year parking will be at Reading Rugby Club on Sonning Lane.
    • We ask that users make a small donation (£2) to the club for parking, using the collection tins available on the day.
    • Please do not park on Sonning Lane these are part of the course and parking here will impact the event and the flow of traffic through the village.
    • PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN NEARBY RESIDENTIAL ROADS.
  • Is there a baggage area somewhere?
    • There will be a baggage gazebo - please note all items are left at your own responsibility.
       
  • What prizes are there to run for?
    • Prizes kindly donated by Castle Royle will be presented at the prize-giving at 10.15am.
